He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rachel Atkinson and Harry Atkinson; his grandparents, Archie Smith and Mamie Smith; his siblings, Paul Wesley Atkinson and Harriet Ann McWilliams; his nephew Carl Atkinson; his wife Emily Atkinson of Oakdale; and his children, Diane Smith (Don) of Sulphur, Devre Buxton (Tommy) of Oakdale, Gina McWilliams of Kinder, Steven Self (Robin) of Elizabeth, Lee Estay of Hobbs, Joey Estay of Morgan City, Corey Estay of Houma and Joe Harrelson of Pennsylvania. He was also cherished by twenty grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
