He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Vinson Fontenot; his parents, Harry Fontenot and Vera Guillory Fontenot; his brother Wayne Fontenot; and his grandson Chase Tyler.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kenya Norwood of High Point and Mechelle Tyler (Tim) of Whittier; his siblings, Winston Fontenot (Pat) of Baton Rouge and Mary Duplechain of Beaver Creek; his grandchildren, Maegan Peppers (Billy), Jared Smith (Hallie), Michael Norgren (Ashley) and Trey Tyler; and his great grandchildren, Carson Norgren, Weston Norgren, Jesse Peppers, Jackson Peppers, Lola Tyler and Grayson Smith.
