She was predeceased by: her husband John Sawyer "Duke" Barr, III; and her parents, Clint Elmer Shepard and Emma Sue Norris Shepard. She is survived by: her children, Jesse Shepard Barr (Margaret), Daniel Clay Barr (Kim) and Virginia Hope Barr Robertson (Dan); her brother Clint Edwin Shepard (Saundra); her grandchildren, Emma Allyne Barr, Camille Joy Barr, Haynes Shepard Barr, Jacob Clayton Barr, John Barron Barr, Lelia Hope Robertson, Rebecca Ruth Robertson and Dan Sawyer Robertson; her brother-in-law James; and her close friend Nancy Files Allen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Oak Ridge Methodist Church (306 S Oak St, Oak Ridge, LA 71264). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
