He is survived by: his children, Robert "Hobo" Helmer (Sue) of Pioneer, Louisiana, Susie Helmer of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Patty Helmer of West Monroe, Louisiana and Scott Helmer, Sr. of Oak Grove, Louisiana; and his siblings, Phil Helmer of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Jean Rider of Oak Grove, Louisiana and Carrie Helmer of Oak Grove. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.
