She was predeceased by: her parents, William Phillips McCarty and Rose Lee Evans McCarty; her son Johnnie Lavelle Knight; her former husband Johnnie Knight; her husband Franklin "Tater" Horton; and her brother Lavelle "Buddy" McCarty.
She is survived by: her brother William Moden; her son Larry Knight of Opelousas; her daughter-in-law Sherry Knight of Opelousas; her daughter Sharon Hargrove of Monroe; and her children-in-law, Lloyd Hargrove of Monroe and Frances Knight of Kilbourne. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
