He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lawerence Kirby Sr. and Amelia Bernice Fadroski Kirby; and his siblings, Stacey Kirby, Paul Kirby, John L. Kirby Jr., Don Kirby and Henrietta "Sam" Edmiston.
He is survived by: his wife Laura Hyun Chong Kirby of Transylvania, Louisiana; his daughters, Maria Gonzalez of Thomaston, Georgia and Felicia Kirby-Odom of Thomaston, Georgia; his grandchildren, Cherokee Kirby and Robert Odom; his great grandchildren, Bella McLendon, Rose Stegall, JaKolby Trice and Koyoty Trice; and his brothers, Pat Kirby of Forest, David Kirby (Debra) of Bastrop, Michael Kirby of Kilbourne, Richard Kirby (Vanessa) of Bastrop and James Kirby (Shelia) of Bastrop, Louisiana..
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cox Funeral Homes - Oak Grove Chapel (200 E Noble St, Oak Grove, LA 71263). A graveside service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (2413 US-425, Rayville, LA 71269).
