He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Avery; and his parents, J. D. Avery and Elsie Avery. He is survived by: his children, Benita Cobb (Rickey) of Forest, LA, Steve Avery (Barbara) of Arcadia, LA, Phillip Avery (Kelley) of Arcadia, LA, Scott Avery (Tanya) of Blanchard, LA and Julie Bishop (Dennis) of Lisbon, LA; his brother Jim Avery of Memphis, TN; and his close friend Mildred Owens of Kilbourne, LA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
