It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tennie Merritt (Newellton, Louisiana), who passed away on May 8, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Jack Merritt; her daughter Marie Wilson; and her siblings, Lueene Wilson, Sonny Sutterfield and Charles Sutterfield.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Lewis (Sam) of Natchez, MS, Leona Freeman (Jeryl) of Newellton, LA, Jack Merritt (Charlotte) of Newellton, LA and Paul Merritt (Sandra) of Jackson, MS; and her siblings, Floyd Sutterfield of Los Angeles, CA, Jimmy Sutterfield (Elaine) of Mt, Faye Sandifer of Tallulah, LA, Jean Guinn of Tallulah, LA and Joy Shaw of Tallulah, LA. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
