It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie James Williams Sr. of New Orleans, Louisiana, born in Frierson, Louisiana, who passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Scott and Melvina Williams Scott; his wives, Iceleen Smith Williams and Edna Daniels Williams; and his siblings, Annie Mae Scott Clark, Velma Scott Edmonds and Bob "Tommy" Scott.
He is survived by: his children, Vanessa Boyd (Governor), Willie James Williams Jr., Merdys Richardson (Joseph), Dwayne Williams (Angela) and Curtis "Skip" Williams; his siblings, Melvina Scott Benefield, Shelby Lee Scott, Helen Scott Brooks, Lucille Scott Verrett, Rebecca Scott, Ethel Scott Taylor, Joannie Scott Elliot, Edward Scott Sr. and Marita Scott Lee; his children, Harold August Jr. and Raphael August Sr.; and his goddaughter Janell Benefield. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of extended family.
