He was predeceased by: his father William Ira Copeland Jr.; his brother Mark Copeland; and his grandparents, William Ira Copeland Sr., Gertrude Brooks Copeland, Booker T. and Willie Mae Jefferson.
He is survived by: his mother Patsy Ann Copeland; his son William Curtis; his sisters, Angelena Brumfield (Shelby), Natasha Copeland Harrell (Welcy) and Brionne Copeland; his nieces and nephews, Stephen K. Copeland, Justin, Trey, Tyler Harrell, Rica "Punch" Copeland, Kristen "Missy" Copeland, Madison and Kennedi Harrell; his aunt Jacqueline Jefferson; and his friend Maxine Thompson. He is also survived by many cousins, extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Billy's name to a local animal rescue organization, reflecting his lifelong love and compassion for animals.
