He is survived by: his children, Rosalind VanCourt-Washington (Larry), Detdra Jones (Clarence), Ulysses Douglas (late Alicia), Bobbie Hayes (Edward), Leonard Hines (Andrea) and Channing VanCourt-Meggs (Jamal); his siblings, Herman VanCourt Jr. (Yvonne) and Althea Druhet; and his friend Earl Ellis. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the All Saints Catholic Church (1441 Teche St, New Orleans, LA 70114). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
