He was predeceased by: his father Dudley; and his brothers, Winston and Herbert Powell. He is survived by: his wife Yoko Matsumoto Powell; his siblings, Robert Powell, Calla Victoria, Charles Edward Lonon and William Powell; and his children, Neo Powell, Tyrone Michael Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Sr., Aiyana Francis, Eloise Lewis and Quiandra Nunnery. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
