With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Mae Hicks of New Orleans, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 19, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Franklin Wilson and Mary V. Duplessis; her husband William Hicks; her children, Zimmie, Glyendale, Danny and Glen Sr. Stevenson; her brothers, George and Simon Duplessis; and her granddaughters, Glyendale Green and Destiny Cook.
She is survived by: her daughters, S. Richardson of Florida, Delilah A. Johnson and Tammy Jenkins; her sister-in-law Lola Duplessis; her adoptive daughter Gloria Cook; her grandson-in-law Troy Green; and her great grandchild Courtney Querzerquel (Timothy). She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
