It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Garner Lacour (New Orleans, Louisiana), who passed away on April 15, 2016, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hattie Roach Garner and Oscar Garner, Sr.; her husbands, James Edward Coleman and John Ernest LaCour; her daughter Tandra Shavelle Lewis; her sisters, Eva Jones, Barbara Keith and Yvonne Judson; her daughter-in-law Mattie B. Coleman; and her niece Chiquita Garner Thomas.
She is survived by: her son Michael Coleman, Sr. (Tangler); her siblings, Jacqueline Garner, Oscar Garner, Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Thomas Garner, Sr. (Shirley) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Gregory Owens (Renella) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her brothers-in-law, Louie Judson of Zachary and Burnette Keith, Jr. (Annette) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and her grandchildren, LeKiedra Coleman (Kenya Cobbing), Corey Tolliver Michael Coleman, Jr. (Johnette), Jamar Coleman of Baton Rouge and James Coleman (Anastasia) of Lafayette, Louisiana. She is also survived by three step grandsons, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
