She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Sykes and Violet Sykes; her husband Clarence Mercadal; her brothers, Tyrone and Kenneth Sykes; and her grandson Christopher Mercadal.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Mercadal (Deborah), Leslie McFadden (Larry), Glenn Mercadal (Nikki) and Michelle Scales (Burnell Jr.); and her siblings, Stanley Sykes, Toni Berry, Denise Sanders, Kim Sykes and Keith Sykes. She is also survived by her six great-grandchildren.
