We bid farewell to Posey James Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 28, 2024 at the age of 86. Posey touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the sacred silence of farewell, Posey is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Posey's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his wife Jerdean James; his daughter Joyce Jones; his brothers, Willie and George James; and his parents, Posey James, Sr. and Fannie Rabb.
He is survived by: his sisters, Ellen Hicks and Bessie Navarre; and his sons, Jonas Dennis (Helen), Walter Collins and Charles Collins (Stacey). He is also survived by 13 grandkids, 25 great grandkids, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Ephesian Baptist Church (4020 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70125). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
