It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mercedes Morales Matherne (New Orleans, Louisiana), who passed away on December 16, 2018, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Morales and Eldemira Morales; and her siblings, Carlos, Louis, Richard Morales and Carmelita "Connie" Morales Gurtner.
She is survived by: her spouse Alvin John Matherne; her child Debra Matherne Decker; her granddaughters, Melissa and Jeannine Decker; her grandson-in-law Edward "Tommy" Plemons; and also William "Wolfe" Decker. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
