She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Johnny Hughes Jr.; her son Lester Hughes; her parents, Albert Williams Sr. and Beatrice Taylor Williams-Carr; and her siblings, Mary Aples and George Carr.
She is survived by: her children, Johnny Hughes III, Errol Hughes, Lynn Lewis and Alvin Lewis; and her siblings, Catherine Heim, Margaret Walters, Brenda Wallace, Jeanette Williams of Daly California, Albert Williams Jr., L. S. Carr, Larry Williams, Presley Carr and John Wayne Carr. She is also survived by two daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Boyd Family Funeral Home (5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70126). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
