He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel Nelson and Helen Johnson-Nelson; and his siblings, Joann Johnson, Diane Johnson-Turner and Ronnie Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Shavonda A. Reese, Aneesa, Charles and Quinntrell Armstrong; his grandchildren, Danny, Aneka, London Armstrong and Sydney A. Burrell; and his siblings, Lois Earl (Clarence), Michele Luckett (Herman), Michael Nelson (Kimberly), Paula and Joyce Nelson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and God-children.
