He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jack Payne and Sara Payne; his wife Sharon Jacobi Payne; his children, Jack C. Payne III (Sierra) and Wendy Payne Cooper (Kevin); his grandchildren, Christian Payne Cooper, Caitlynn Paige Cooper, Chase Patrick Cooper and Gracie Ann Payne; and his sister Patricia Payne Harwell (Fonda). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chapel. A prayer was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home and Cemetery (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124).
Since, Jack was an avid lover of animals, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Animal Rescue of New Orleans (ARNO) (160 Brookhollow Esplanade, Elmwood, LA 70123) or Metairie Humane Shelter (6213 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70003).
