He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Thelma Burton Smith and Silas Smith Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Gia Johnson (Clinton), Shantell, George Smith Jr. and Demeka Bartholomew; his sisters, Minnie Bell, Elizabeth Smith and Lucille Stubbs; his son Edward Earl Barnes of Bassfield, Mississippi; and his brothers, John Leo of New Orleans, Louisiana. and Silas Smith Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana.. He is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
