He was predeceased by: his parents, Augusta Slang and George Slang; and his siblings, George Slang Jr., Leroy, Jessie Slang, Lucinda Pike, Warnell Smith, Gussie Nisby and Eloise Hatton.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene D. Slang; his children, Kelly, George Young, Jarvis and Ahmad Green; and his sisters, Ethel Shears, Juanita Scott and Isabell Burks.
