We are sad to announce that on January 6, 2025, at the age of 105, Evangeline M Ishem (New Orleans, Louisiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Alphonse Warren Ishem; and her siblings, A. Percy, Charles S., MacFarland J., Bernard Melancon, Lillian Mosely, Rita Maude Landry, Ollie Goodwin, Helen G. Wilson and Essie V. Jacque.
She is survived by: her children, Clyde W. Jacque and Yvette T. Ishem-Williams; her grandchildren, Ruquiyah Alexander, Yohan A. Jacque Sr., Taravia M. Maynard (Lemuel), Kyande S. Finnie and Kiah M. Williams; and her nephew Walter Goodwin Sr. Lula. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church (5621 Elysian Fields Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
