She was predeceased by: her parent Author; her husband James Singleton; her daughters, Annette Singleton and Earline Taylor; and her siblings, Naomi Wharton Ward Cosey, Ruth Sherman, Charles, Wilfred and Daniel Wharton.
She is survived by: her children, Joanne Taylor, James Singleton, Marvin Singleton, Troy Singleton, Phyllis Singleton, Karen Singleton, Stephen Singleton, Lori Singleton and Donna Cato; her grandchildren, Cory Singleton, Arnetia Singleton Pamela Singleton, Michael Singleton, India Singleton and Troy Singleton; and her brothers, Lawrence (late Maddie), Lionel, Ralph (late Darell) and George Wharton.
