We are sad to announce that on March 31, 2025, at the age of 99, Ernest Gilbert Chachere of New Orleans, Louisiana, born in Mobile, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lancelot Chachere and Irene Faustina Chachere; his wife Carolyn; his son Stephen; and his grandson Matthew.

He is survived by: his daughter Daria; his son-in-law William; his son Ernie; his daughters-in-law, Linda and Carol; his grandchildren, Nicole, Jessie (Phillip) and Chris (Amanda); and his great grandchildren, Henry, Sabine, George, Emile and Gemma.

A graveside service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Lakelawn Metairie Cemetery (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124).
