She is survived by: her children, Gwendolyn Piper-Turner (Willie), Elvera Walter, Nathan Sterling Sr. (Lynette), Ike Sterling Sr., Julius Sterling, David Sterling (Joy), Emelda Sterling, Ernest Piper III, Jerome Piper, Lois Piper and Allen Piper; and her sister Margaret Hill. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
