It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Murray Tate of New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Horace Tate, Jr. (late Jane), Geraldine Leverette of Jackson, MS, David Tate, Sr. (late Audrey) and Evelyn Hayes (late Warren). He is survived by: his brother Horace James, Jr.; his spouse Myrtis H. Tate; his children, Christy Tate, Julyan Paynes, Darren (Kristen) of Houston, TX and Ernest (Jennie) of Nashville, TN.; and his grandchildren, Imani, Nia Young, Darren Howard, Jr., Gabriel Howard and Ethan Dickerson.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 7th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Murray Henderson Funeral Home (1209 Teche St, New Orleans, LA 70114). A celebration of life was held on Monday, October 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (34888 Grantham College Dr, Slidell, LA 70460).
