Betty Balsamo Tapia Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Balsamo Tapia (New Orleans, Louisiana), who passed away on October 23, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband John H. Tapia; her son Charles; and her sister Gloria B. Mead. She is survived by: her children, Leslea (late Craig B. Parker) and Jon (Penny); and her grandchildren, Daniel, Liz (David), Michael (Tyler), Alex (Shelby), Courtney (Nick), Sydney, Connor and Chad (Jasmine). She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
