She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Johnson and Selezie J. Johnson; her stepmother Naomi Johnson; her husband Horatio Wingate, Jr.; and her siblings, Barbara Olga Johnson, Patricia Johnson Kelly, Edmona Lucille Johnson Gilliano, Robert Johnson and Lawrence Johnson, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Beryl Leslie Wingate, Horatio Edward Wingate and Frank Benjamin Wingate; her grandchildren, Christina Sherrie Wingate and Jonathan Ray Denton, Jr.; her sisters, Joy A. J. Washington and Naomi Johnson Rumbolt; and her siblings-in-law, Jeanette Marie Reed Wingate, Sylvia Wingate Marshall, Evelyn Wingate Stanley, Michael Wingate, Sr. and Derrick Rumbolt. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
