He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Stevens and Benjamin Jones Sr.; his wife Virginia Jones; his daughter Gwen; his siblings, Gail Kelly, Barbara Latcha and Joseph Latcha; his grandchildren, Montreal Jones, Germond Powell, Shawn Jones and Benjamin Jones Jr. Shorty; and also Evelyn Jones Stevens.
He is survived by: his children, Betty Ann Jones, Benjamin Jones 3rd, Johnny Jones (Iris Jones Harris) and Iris Jones Harris; his stepchildren, Monique Filmore, Alexander Filmore and Brunei Filmore; his close friend Beverly Filmore; his stepchildren, Joseph H. Young, Jr., Tyrone Young and Denise Young; his children, Shorty and Stephanie (Jacqueline Miller); his sisters, Shirley Jones and Joni Williams; his aunt Rosie Stevens; and his sister-in-law Ora Dee Lutcher.
Burial will be private. Due to COVID-19, everyone attending is required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing.
