She was predeceased by: her parents, Aaron Albert and Blanche Marx Lowenstein. She is survived by: her significant other Morris E. Burka, Jr.; her sons, Reece (Julia) and Andy (Cathy); and her grandchildren, Aden (Dan), Casey (Sophie), Sam (Erica) and Daniel (Ona). She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Ann was recognized for her contributions to the New orleans community with awards from the Institute of Human Understanding, Volunteer activist award, and the Weiss Award, given by the National Conference of Christians and Jews.
