We are sad to announce that on December 22, 2024, at the age of 83, Alphonse Henderson Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away. As Alphonse departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Alphonse. Though Alphonse may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Delores Henderson and Alphonse Henderson Sr.; his wife Jeannie Henderson; and his brothers, Harry and Lloyd Henderson.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Henderson, Sharon Miller (Michael), Lawana Rogers (Kareem), Joshua Henderson (Ashley) and Justin Henderson; and his sisters, Ruth Gayle Farmer and Dora M. Baker (Charlie). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mount Pilgrim 4th Baptist Church (429 Newton St, New Orleans, LA 70114). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
