He was predeceased by: his parents, Caleb Shorts, Sr. and Katie Turner Shorts; his son Allen Shorts, Jr.; his grandson Allen R. Shorts; and his siblings, Gertrude Shorts-Foster, Samuel Shorts and Dorothy Shorts-Bradford.
He is survived by: his wife Arleen; his children, Michael Shorts, Sr., Monic Everage (Lawrence), Lorena Campbell (Solomon) and Alex Shorts (Krishanda); his siblings, Anna B. Keller (Jesse), Caleb Shorts, Jr. (Louise), Nancy Page, Nekeidra White (Lawrence) and Wilbert Shorts (Jessie); his niece Francine Siah (Bernard); his nephew Timothy Shorts (Darlene); and his sisters-in-law, Glenda Johnson (Earl) and Geraldine Shorts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mark Baptist Church (2131 Perdido St, New Orleans, LA 70112). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
