It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Theresa Comeaux Derouen of New Iberia, Louisiana, born in Egan, Louisiana, who passed away on May 3, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas "Pete" Derouen; her son Michael Derouen; her father Raymond Comeaux; and her brothers, Buford, Wallace and Robert Comeaux.
She is survived by: her daughter Lucille Mae Derouen of Baton Rouge; her grandsons, Nicholas Derouen (Dawn) of Toledo Bend and Bradley Derouen (Robin) of New Iberia; her great grandchildren, Bryce Derouen of Toledo Bend, Braxton Derouen of Toledo Bend, Shay Brazil (Kacy) of Provencal, Ethan Derouen of Toledo Bend and Patience Derouen of New Iberia; her great great grandchildren, Talon and Kashton Brazil of Provencal; and her extended family, Tika, Trinity Laudun of Baton Rouge and Blaine Landry of Denham Springs.
