It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Simms of New Iberia, Louisiana, who passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Simms and Helen Neuis Simms; his siblings, Zenobia Zepherin, Sister Helen Simms, Sister Maria Petra Simms, Charles Simms, Jr. and James Simms; his sister-in-law Ida Bell Simms; his nephew Michael Simms; and his niece Helen S. Bland.
He is survived by: his caregivers, Theresa Zepherin, Monica Rochon (Frederick) of Lafayette, LA, Elizabeth Crawford (Morrris), Cynthia Porter (Ken) of New Orleans, LA, Donna Hendricks (Chares), Annette Archangel of Houston, TX, Cathy Simms, Charles Simms, Martin Simms (Linda) of St. Louis, MO and Stephen Simms (Marcia) of Portland, OR; and his sister-in-law Iona Simms of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Saint Edward Roman Catholic Church (175 Ambassador W Lemell Dr, New Iberia, LA 70560, USA). A rosary will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
