He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Sr. Fontenot and Oeliva Reed Fontenot; his wife Gale Fontenot; and his siblings, Joyce Saucier, Bernadine Fontenot, Leo Fontenot, Lee Fontenot, Urell Fontenot and Rodney Fontenot.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Fontenot Breaux (Russell) and Lionel Fontenot; his sister Bertha Verret; and his grandchildren, Brooke Fontenot Stansbury (Cody), Braylin Fontenot, Bryce Breaux and Lane Breaux (Susie Mouton Breaux). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
