It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathryn Plaisance Derouen of New Iberia, Louisiana, born in Morgan City, Louisiana, who passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Dallas J. Derouen; her mother Mildred P. Thornton; her stepfather William E. Thorton; her parents-in-law, Alcide and Marie Vincent Derouen; and her siblings-in-law, Ethel R. Derouen, Roy J. Derouen and Loveless J. Vice.
She is survived by: her daughter Bonnie Derouen Boyer; her son-in-law Stephen Regan Boyer of New Iberia; her grandson Stephen Regan Boyer, Jr. (Jennifer Kline) of Castle Pines, Colorado; her great grandchildren, Madeleine, Eloise Boyer of Castle Pines, Colorado, Sarah Boyer (Gabe Griffin) of New Iberia and Chase Boyer (Hannah Ochner) of Lafayette; her great great grandchildren, Julie Ray Griffin of New Iberia and Malcolm James'Mac'Boyer of Lafayette; and her sister-in-law Doris Derouen Vice.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Pellerin Funeral Home - New Iberia (502 Jefferson Terrace, New Iberia, LA 70560). A rosary was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, of which Mrs. Derouen was a long-time supporter.
