We are sad to announce that on December 30, 2024, at the age of 45, JaRyan Lacody Walker of New Iberia, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Charlie Mae Gosha (Joseph), Henry, Samuel Dumas, Deloris Nicholas-Walker and Joseph Walker, Sr.; his niece Jenessa Walker; and his aunts and uncles, Reasia Henry, Karen Kinchen, Netti Ann Evans (Edwards), Willie B. Gosha and Henry Gosha.
He is survived by: his mother Cynthia Gosha Walker (Gosha); his spouse Coretta Ford-Walker of Dallas, TX; his daughters, Briana La'nae Reed of Lafayette, LA, Jordyn LaChae Walker of New Iberia, LA, Tayshon Ja'Nayia and Amayri Sanai Walker of Dallas, TX; his granddaughter Kenzlee Reed of Lafayette, LA; his father Joseph Walker, Jr. of New Iberia, LA; his siblings, Lamont Walker (Marcy) of New Iberia, LA and Jacy Walker of Dallas, TX; his parents-in-law, Rev. Willie and Rachel Ford of Donaldsonville, LA; his sister-in-law Nathalie Ford of Houston, TX; his niece Jazmine; his goddaughter Jamie (Jada Walker); his great-nieces, Jalayah August and Mia George; his great-nephew Meciah George; his aunts and uncles, Margaret Washington, Betty Davidson, Paulette Gosha Long (Larry), Jannette Gosha, Rodney Walker (Ruth), Patrick Walker, Terrell Walker (Melissa), Larry Vangure (Connie) and Donald Vangure; and his godparents, Minister Ellen-Marie Nora and Jessie Cormier. He is also survived by cousins, friends and co-workers.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Progressive Baptist Church (2001 E Simcoe St, Lafayette, LA 70501).
