He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Oppenheimer and Elizabeth Ledet Oppenheimer; his former wife Jeanetta Oppenheimer; his sons, Scottie Oppenheimer and James Oppenheimer; and his siblings, Elvina Tauriac, Ethel Thompson, Alton Oppenheimer and Melvin Oppenheimer.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Mae Johnson Oppenheimer of New Iberia, LA; and his children, Nicole Doucet of Abbeville, LA, Jamie Jackson (James) of New Iberia, LA, Kevin Oppenheimer of Carencro, LA, Kerry Oppenheimer of New Iberia, LA and Delonnie Johnson, Sr. of New Iberia, LA. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia (609 W Admiral Doyle Dr, New Iberia, LA 70560). A rosary was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
