He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Bourgeois and Irma Bourgeois; the mother of his child Jerry Deckard Bourgeois; and his son Mark Bourgeois. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Martin Bourgeois of New Iberia; and his grandchildren, Aimee Macias (Juan Macias) of Temecula, CA, Andrea Bourgeois of Morgan City, LA, Adam Bourgeois (Tyjanna Bourgeois) and Lauren Segura (Kaleb Segura) of Broussard, LA. He is also survived by numerous stepchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Huey was one of my favorite men in life. Years ago, we spent many good times at “the camp” in the spillway. My brother Fred was in his employ as a deputy with St Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. He and our father were close friends before our father’s passing, and I was fortunate to be invited to join them during some activities. I was honored to know the sheriff; his memory will live on.”
