George Camille Simar Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Camille Simar of New Iberia, Louisiana, who passed away on March 29, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Simar and Felicia Cart Simar; his son Steven Paul Simar; his brothers, John "Van" Simar, Linus Simar and Louis Simar; and his grandchild Jamie Simar.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Roy Simar of New Iberia; his sons, Dennis Brian Simar of St. Martinville, Mark Daniel Simar of Youngsville, Joseph Cleve Simar, Sr. (Carolyn) of Montgomery, TX and Alan Jude Simar (Laurie) of St. Martinville; his brother Clarence Simar; and his grandchildren, Joseph "Jay" Simar, Jr., Michael Paul Simar, Nicholas Paul Simar, Kaylie Simar, Bryan Simar, Camille Simar and Kelly Simar. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (2514 Old Jeanerette Rd, New Iberia, LA 70563). A rosary was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Family Cemetery (2807 N Curtis Ln, New Iberia, LA 70560).
