He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel I. Bowen and Mary Geneva Beaudion Bowen; his brother Sammy Lynn Bowen, Sr.; and his nephew Sammy Lynn Bowen Jr.. He is survived by: his daughter Jenny Settle (Daniel); his grandchildren, John-Michael Settle (Sierra) and Danielle Morgan (Zachary); his great grandchildren, Geneva Kate Settle and Victoria Rayne Settle; his daughter Kim Bowen; and his siblings, Sandra Johns (Sammy), Jimmy Bowen (Susan), Mary Bennett (John), Bobby Bowen and Pat Bowen (Melody).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Minor Basilica of Immaculate Conception Church or the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, an organization that Michael strongly supported.
