It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Mae Gordy (Natchitoches, Louisiana), who passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Jennie Ford Knight; her husband Harvey Gordy; her father Wes Knight; her brothers, Fred Knight, Ralph Knight, Bill Knight and Charles Knight; her son Gerald Gordy; and her grandson Spencer Castleberry.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rachel Hardin, Terrie Sebren, Janet Overly, Sonya Yeglin and Pat Griffith. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home (848 Keyser Ave, Natchitoches, LA 71457). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Memory Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Dorothy's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring her spirit of giving and compassion.
