He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leondis Shaw and Francis Lucinda Slayter Shaw; his wife Justine Elanor McMurray of Winnfield; and his siblings, Earl Shaw, Hershel Shaw, Dr. Marie Shaw Dunn, Ruby Jenkins and Rita Walter.
He is survived by: his sons, Billy Wayne Shaw, Jr. and Robert Britain Shaw; and his sister Kayla Brossette of Alexandria, Louisiana. He is also survived by his sons; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church of Natchitoches (312 LA-3191, Natchitoches, LA 71457). A burial will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery (312 LA-3191, Natchitoches, LA 71457).
He was subsequently named Professor Emeritus by NSU in recognition of his dedicated service and contributions to the field of education.
