He was predeceased by: his wife Diane Rainey; his parents, Florence Rainey, and Thomas Rainey, Sr.; and his siblings, Raymond, Sr., Joseph, Sr., Harry, Sr., Thomas Rainey, Jr., Rose Carter Coleman, Dorothy Roussell, Shirley, Armertine, Geraldine and Thelma Rainey.

He is survived by: his children, Roland, Jr. (Summer), Jermaine (Ashley), Justin, Cody Rainey (LaTricia), Rolanda Breaux and Kimberly Rainey (Leon); and his siblings, Robert Rainey, Sr., Debra, Mary, Dianne and Alice Rainey. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
