She was predeceased by: her husband Clenard Melancon; her parents, Oscar Reed and Edna Reed; her daughter Charlotte Reed; her siblings, Melba Reed Sullivan, Cynthia Reed Holmes and Donald Ray Reed; and her grandson Devonte Turner.

She is survived by: her son David Turner Sr.; her niece Dr. Jessica Sullivan; her grandson David S. Turner; and her stepdaughters, Audrey and Aundrea Melancon. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
