He was predeceased by: his wife Alonia Boudreaux Blanchard; his son Mark James Blanchard; his parents, Abby Blanchard and Cora Blanchard; and his siblings, Hayward "Be Bop" Blanchard, Bonnie Blanchard and Lily Rose Blanchard.

He is survived by: his children, Marilyn Blanchard Gonzales and Keith Blanchard (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Dawn Barrient (Chris), Candace Davidson (Jeff), Rebecca Campagna (Dustin), Evy Rodrigue (Freddie), Kayli Blanchard (Michael), Samantha Blanchard and Alex Templet (Allen); his siblings, Alice Sternfels and Ronnie Blanchard; and his daughter-in-law Tammy Blanchard. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
