He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Charles and Thelma Morris Lawson; his wife Brenda Boutain Lawson; and his siblings, Mary Love, Maggie Lawson, Myrtle Wiggins (Harry), Octavia Southall (Samuel) and Louis Lawson, Jr. (Shirley).
He is survived by: his daughter Sue Marie Lawson VanNorman; his son-in-law Flynn VanNorman; his son Gilbert "Nubb" Lawson, Jr.; his siblings, Glenn Lawson and Gloria Spurlock; and his grandchildren, T'Roy A. Lawson and Lexi Gi Lacour. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other special relatives and friends.
