She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. James "Jimmy" Brien Sr.; her parents, Roy Sternfels and Lucy Sternfels; and her brother Ronny Sternfels, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, James "Jay" Brien, Jr. (Michelle Guillot Brien) and Shelby Brien Pate (Brad Huber); her grandchildren, Andrew Brien (Katie Jordan Brien), Lauren Brien McDaniel (Dylan McDaniel), Aimee Brien, Katherine Pate, Thomas Pate and Sarah Pate; and her great grandchild Annie Francis Brien.
