She was predeceased by: her husband Ernest Matthews, Sr.; her father Alex Woods; her stepfather Rev. Harry Gilton; and her stepsister Toni George. She is survived by: her mother Catherine Jones; her sons, Ashley Verrett (Hope), Warren Verrett (Alanna) and Stanley Verrett; her siblings, Stanley Woods (Jenette), Ledora Daggs and Charlene Brown; and her stepsister Terilyn Ricks (Issac). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
